I'm from Canberra, ACT and have been playing hockey for 22 years. I've represented ACT at various levels throughout this time. I joined the Royal Australian Navy in 2003 and continued playing hockey whilst serving my country. I have been a proud player of the Australian Defence Force team since 2004 and plan on continuing my involvement in ADF hockey. Also I have recently been selected in the Australian Country Senior Hockey Team to tour Hong Kong and Malaysia in April 2010.I'm happily married and have a 21 month old baby girl named Charlize, she brings a lot of joy to our lives. My family is very supportive in all my sporting endeavours, and they provide me with the determination I need to perform at an elite level.

What are you hoping to achieve
I hope to achieve future selection in the Australian Country team. I'm also looking at achieving selection for the NHL Canberra Labour Club Strikers Squad 2011.How does LineBreak help
LineBreak helps in the training, playing and recovery aspects my body is currently undertaking. Being under such a strict training regime takes it toll on my body, and using LineBreak dramatically enhances my body’s performance when game day arrives. My Blog
01/09/10The Australian Country Championships (ACC) took place in Canberra from the 31st July - 7th August 2010. It's a competition in which I have been competing in for 7 years now, and this year proved to be a memorable and rewarding one.
We played 6 games in total Winning 2, losing 3 and drawing 1, Our final ranking was 3rd which is the best position ADF has ever placed at this championship.
The ADF girls played an amazing tournament and fought hard all the way to the final whistle. I personally didn't gain any major injuries during this tournament which I'm overly amazed at, but very happy with; but there was a major injury in our team which resulted in hospitalisation, and my best wishes goes out to Fred she had a fantastic tournament and played her heart out.
The Australian Country Senior Women's team was announced on the final day, and I was named in the team as Co-Captain with my fellow Co-Captain being Sarah Watson from NSW, who too had a great tournament. We will be touring NZ in April 2011.

I have just returned from the ADF National Hockey Championships which were held in Sydney from the 5th - 11th June 2010. It's only the 4th time in 7 years that I've been able to participate in the championships, and it was definitely worth the week off work to scout out the new talent and catch up with old friends! I captained the ACT combined services team, and unfortunately we were unable to qualify for the Grand Final this year due to a drawn game in the semi finals which kicked us out to the 3rd v 4th playoff, We won that match and finished the tournament at 3rd. I'd just like to take the opportunity to congratulate the ACT girls on their 3rd place win and let everyone know that they all played an amazing week of hockey! and remember to come back next year so we can take out the championship!!
Apart from a few injuries that I received such as a broken finger and knee issues I managed to complete the week on a high by being selected in the ADF National team and also taking out the Female player of the tournament trophy, which I find both to be a great achievement and couldn't have done without the ongoing support of every one of my team members, coaches, trainers, and family. I do send a special thank you to linebreak for such a great product that really helped my recovery over the past week and got me out on the pitch feeling fit.
My next tournament will be the Australian Country Championships in Canberra from the 31st July - 7th August 2010.

What an amazing 3 weeks of hockey it's been. For the first 2 weeks I was away with the Aussie country team, we played a few games in Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. In total we played 9 matches over 13 days. This trip was an eye opener as it was my first time away representing Country Hockey, so not only was I a "Rookie" but I was also named Co-Captain of the team. The girls were all very supportive and encouraging and really helped my transition into the team smooth and effortless.
We won 3 out of the 4 games played in Hong Kong. The skill level of a few of the games weren't at the international level, but the teams were still very competitive and one of the state league teams called Hong kong Football Club were actually pumped and on the ball the night we played them and came back from being 2 - 0 down at half time to beat us 4 -2. It was a disappointing result but we soon learnt from our mistakes.
After a fair bit of shopping and site seeing in Hong Kong we jet set across to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia where we were to play the Malaysian National team. Well lets just say it was a very interesting game. With the temps in the mid 30s and the humidity in the late 80s I was sweating even before I started warming up. I must add my linebreak singlet did come in handy. We had 18 players away with us which left 6 players on the bench to sub on and off, they had a squad of 22 players which left them with 9 players to sub on and off, and boy did we use our subs that day. We managed to keep the Malay's down to a 2 - 0 lead at half time, and considering they were subbing on a new forward line every 10 minutes we didn't see this as such a bad result. Until the 2nd half when we lost our legs and let 4 more goals in to lose 6 - 0. Of course our coach wasn't happy as this was the biggest game of the tour and we lost majorly but at least we kept our own and won the remainder of our games in KL.
From KL we bused it down to Singapore for a night where we played the Singapore national development team, and came away with 2 victories out of 2 games.
This whole experience with the Aussie country team has been great! and I will definitely be touring with them again... If I'm selected of course.
Selection will be at the Australian Country Championships in Canberra from the 31st July - 7th August 2010.
For the last week I've been in Sydney after my return from overseas playing in a 3 test match series against the Royal Air Force. We (Australian Defence Force (ADF) Women's team) drew the series with the poms after losing the first match 1 - 0, Winning the Second 3 - 0 then drawing the decider 2 - 2 even after 20 mins of extra time. The ADF team did really well considering we had a few late additions to the team. As Captain of the team I was very proud of how much the girls had improved since I last played with them and really hope that they can keep it up for this years Country Champs.
Now for the next 2 months or so I've got more club hockey to be played and also a defence force hockey champs to win!

So I've been selected to play in the Australian country senior women's hockey team to tour Hong Kong and Malaysia from the 5th April - 19th April 2010. I'm so excited, anxious, nervous and every other breath taking emotion possible because it's not long till I jet set to Hong Kong. The teams that we will be up against include Kowloon CC, Quandong Province, Hong Kong National team, Malaysia National and the Singapore National team. I haven't heard much on their performance but I'm sure the Aus Country team will put up a tough fight.
Leading up to this tour our team has been on a strict 9 week training program, which includes a lot of running! This week is the final week of training and the feeling once the week is over is going to be amazing and gratifying! I can already feel the difference in my fitness as I played my first club game on the weekend and wowed myself as I actually got through the whole 70 minute game without having a heart attack.
The next time I'll be chatting to y'all will be on my return! Take care and give it your all!
