Tell us about yourself

I am a competitive cross country endurance mountain biker. I love the sport of cycling, be it on or off road. I also work as an IT Manager in Education and have a wonderful wife and three amazing kids.

Proudest Sporting Achievements

In this my third year of serious cycling, I have increased my training load and have had some great results. About 9 months ago I heard the World Solo Mountain Bike Championships were leaving North America for the first time in their 12 year history to be held in Canberra for 2010. I set a goal to compete in that race and quickly set about designing a plan that would see me qualify and on the start line for this once in a lifetime opportunity. My proudest moment was crossing the finish line on the 10th October 2010 and taking 9th place in my age category and finishing 64th from a field of over 400 riders in only my first full 24 hour solo Mountain bike race.

What are you hoping to achieve

In 2011 I am aiming to consolidate my current training load and focus on the 8 hour solo race series which is held on 5 of the best single track courses throughout regional NSW.

How does LineBreak help

Part of my success in the WSC24 I attribute to my use of Linebreak compression wear both during training and through the race. Linebreak is an integral part of my training regime in terms of recovery. As soon as I get back from a hard training session, the first thing I do is slip on the tights. This ensures that I am getting the best possible recovery and that I am ready for the next’s day’s training effort. During the 24 hour race, many athelete’s were concerned about upper body fatigue due to the rocky, technical nature of the course. I was lucky to be wearing my Linebreak top which minimised the irritation of arm muscles caused by the constant jarring of the course. An extra benefit was the tights actually helped to regulate my body temperature keeping me cool during the day and warm through night.
