ELOAD Zone Caps Snapshot
On Their Own
Sweat electrolyte concentration increases proportionate to sweat rate, and the e load™ customization system is founded on this principle.
Zone Caps can be used on their own to replace electrolytes only (sodium, potassium, calcium and magnesium), for use with shorter events where carbohydrates are not desired. However, once one starts to pass the one hour mark in an activity, supplementing with carbohydrates in addition to electrolytes becomes an important consideration - see e load, FLY, Energy Gel, eDISCS and EMEND for more information on our carbohydrate containing endurance/recovery products.
How?
Zone Caps are purposely made with a small dose of electrolytes in them, allowing the user to add more if needed, much like medication is prescribed at the smallest doses first and worked up from there.
Step One:
Figure out your hydration requirements. See the Fluid Calculator for help.
Step Two:
For each 1.5 oz/50 ml of fluid, ingest one Zone Cap. Together in these amounts, they will approximate the concentration of electrolytes found in e load.
It is important that you strictly follow the e load™ mixing instructions found on the label. NEVER USE more e load™ powder AS A SUBSTITUTE FOR ZONE CAPS™ or ZONE CAPS™ X 5. Adding more e load™ than the instructions advise will result in a drink that is too sweet and that has too much flavoring, a sure recipe for nausea and vomiting when you are pushing yourself. Finally, don't let the small size of the ZONE CAPS™ or ZONE CAPS™ X 5 fool you - they pack a punch from an Electrolyte and MulitCitrate™ point of view.
