I gained selection in the St Joseph’s 1st XI, who competes in the AAGPS Competition. I also have toured with St Joseph’s College to Sale, Victoria for the annual Australasian Marist Carnival. At this carnival I came 8th in the batting with 124 runs at 31 in 4 innings including 67 against Marist College Ashgrove. Furthermore, I have also competed for Riverina in:
My proudest sporting moment would be scoring consecutive hundreds at the Bradman Cup Carnival held at Coffs Harbour.
I have already been selected in the U 17’s Country Camp for 2009, which in turn gives me a fantastic opportunity to gain selection in the U 17’s NSW Country side and hopefully also gain selection in the NSW U 17’s side to participate in the National Carnival. In addition I am I hoping to continue the success I have had for St Josephs College in both the G.P.S competition and the 2009 Marist Carnival.

We ended up playing Grammar at home the weekend it was wet and we won comfortably so that was great! The next 3 rounds saw us play The Kings School in which we had a 17-17 all draw! I had a kick to win from the sideline after the siren had sounded but unfortunately I did not convert resulting in the draw. The week after this we played Riverview and we lost 26-22, and during the 2nd half I dislocated my shoulder which resulted in me being taken to hospital in an ambulance and it took 4 goes for my shoulder to go back into place! As a result of this I did not play in the last round match against Newington in which we lost, and also I was unable to play against England! This was a major disappointment but nonetheless I have been doing my rehabilitation and I have been chosen for the camp this week in which the squads to play against New Zealand are chosen. I am hopeful of being selected so fingers crossed!

Long-time no speak but I have been very busy! The Joeys competition season has started and we have 1 win and 1 loss so far. It would have been good to have won both games but nonetheless we are still confident of having a good second half of the season and challenging for the premiership.
I have been lucky enough to play some representative rugby during the holidays starting with GPS 1st XV selection. We played two games, one against CAS which we won comfortably and then against CHS 1’s we drew 14-14.
From this I was selected to represent NSW 2’s at the National Championship in Brisbane with 4 other Joeys boys being selected. The carnival was held at Ballymore for a week and the team went reasonably well with 2 wins and 2 close losses, one against the eventual winners QLD 1 by 6 points.
From this selection for Australian Schoolboys was chosen and I was lucky enough to be selected for the Australian A XV to play England in mid-September. I was extremely surprised and privileged to be chosen especially as I was not expecting it! All of the boys from Joeys gained great experience from the week and are grateful for their opportunities. We have Grammar this weekend and the rain isn’t going to make things any easier but I am sure we are ready to put in a big performance. Thanks for all your support, couldn’t do it without your help!
Long time since my last blog but I have been kept pretty busy with everything. The cricket season for Joeys ended fairly well with the team finishing 3rd behind joint premiers Kings and Shore. We almost won the competition on the back of a 19 wicket day against Scots, and with 1 more wicket it would have meant that we would have won the competition by 1 point due to an outright victory but unfortunately that didn't happen and we finished 3rd. I was extremely proud of the efforts put in by all members of the team in my final year of cricket at Joeys as it certainly was an enjoyable year. I was lucky enough to be selected as vice-captain on the back of my performances for Joeys, and the GPS 1st XI was the victorious NSW Schools Champions after a week of cricket around Sydney. This was a fantastic week, and there were some victories which I will certainly never forget after being somewhat out of the game.
I was fortunate enough to receive the Stan McCabe trophy for being the most outstanding cricketer for Joeys 1st XI in the 2010/2011 season and I was extremely proud to receive this award as my dad had got this award 35 years earlier, and it was something I had strived for since my time at Joeys began. Overall, cricket season wasn't as successful personally as I had wished for, but nonetheless I was part of teams this year which I had a lot of fun in, and I will definitely have many great memories from.
There wasn't much time to recover from the cricket season as footy began the Monday following the cricket finishing on Saturday! The week of trials went well, and I have just returned from a week at Coffs Harbour for the rugby camp. The weather wasn't great, with rain falling every day at different times, and restricting our preparations. But we were able to make the most of the facilities available, particularly using the beach for fitness and training sessions. From the camp, I was lucky enough to be chosen to represent the 1st XV against Knox on Monday night at fullback and also captain the side. The rugby season shapes to be a very competitive and tough couple of months, but all the boys present at the rugby camp, were willing to put in the hard yards despite the poor conditions, and show tremendous potential for the rugby season.
The gear is going very well, but as you could imagine it is still soaking wet and covered in mud so some washing will be in order! For the conditions, I was surprised with the effect the Line break compression gear had, with muscle recovery quicker than I had expected. I have been soft tissue injury free since wearing your equipment, and I think the quality of your product is second to none.
Well it has been a busy week with everything and I'm just starting to get back on my feet again! The NSW Schoolboys games were a big learning curve, and very beneficial for my cricket. We played 5 games in the end due to the rain affecting most of them, in which we won 3 out of the 5. The 4 days were very enjoyable and have given me an understanding of the level in which I need to be at in the future if I'm lucky enough to be selected once again. On returning to Sydney, I played the final 2 days of the Marist Cricket Carnival, which we lost 1 and won 1. The game we lost was against the eventual winners of the carnival, St Gregory's Campbelltown. We ended up finishing third, which was a little disappointing but once again will only help us when we get back to the GPS competition season when we are in tough situations. Finally, on the Sunday, I was selected to play in the Sydney Cricket Club's Poidevin-Grey side to play UNSW, so that meant I literally played a week of cricket straight! We won that game in the final over, and I had to bowl it and make sure they didn't score more than 10 runs, they took 7 from it with a 4 off the last ball which meant they still couldn't win! So thanks to the Linebreak crew, for having compression gear which means I can play a week of cricket straight and still feel fresh enough to bowl 6 straight overs at 5.30pm on a Sunday!
Plenty of news that's for sure! First of all we have started the cricket season very well with winning all but two of our games so far this season. I was named captain of the 1st XI, a great honour which I am very privileged to have. The trial season was a success, with many of the boys in the team having outstanding performances, namely Hamish Bartlett a boy in yr 10 scoring a 140 odd not out in a 50 over game! We have a few younger guys in the team, with 4 from yr 10 (Hamish, Watto, Zombie and JESBS) and a boy from yr 9 who has copped the nickname "baby". All 5 have started the season well, and a few of them have used the discount code to purchase some compression gear off you which they have found very useful! The rest of the boys are from yr 12, Brotherson, Oli, Bettsy, McGinley, Warney and me. Last year's team competed recently in the Combined Schools Cricket competition and we finished runners up to Westfields Sports High by 1 wicket in the final which was a bit disappointing, but nonetheless a great achievement to get that far! I received some exciting news in regards to my selection in the NSW Schoolboys Cricket side to compete against the Queensland Schoolboys side in Brisbane from the 5-9th of December next week. Furthermore, the current Joeys 1st XI will be competing the retain the Marist Carnival Trophy in Sydney in early December so hopefully we can compete well and get some wins there. The compression gear is going extremely well, very comfortable and keeping my muscles fresh during the long days in the field. Thanks once again for the support you guys have given me, its much appreciated!
I've got a lot of news, and most of it not good unfortunately! If you hadn't heard or read it in the paper, Newington beat us 51-7 so we didn't win the premiership. In the game itself, in the second half I got badly concussed and I spent 5 hours in hospital so that wasn't much fun at all. This also meant that I didn't get to play in the last round match against Shore, which we also lost 32-19. It was a disappointing finish to a season that promised so much. So now that Rugby season is over, cricket has started again but I'm doing athletics at the moment. Also, I'm going home this weekend for the major semi final of the AFL for the Bulldogs, so that should be awesome. Hopefully we can win, and go straight into the grand final! I'll keep you updated on what the result is.
Just writing in to tell you that everything is going well and that we are still unbeaten so far in the Rugby! We played Riverview, our biggest rival and we managed to beat them 30-27! So things are looking good for the team but we still have two weeks left and we have to play the undefeated team this week, Newington, who we drew 13-13 in the trial. So it is shaping up to be another big game!
Great news, we beat Kings on the weekend!!!!! Kings had 8 Australian schoolboys representatives, had beat us 35-5 in the trial game earlier in the year, we were playing on their home ground and we beat them in the best game of any sport I have ever played in! The score was 21-20 and I took a kick after the bell to win. The score had see-sawed the whole game but they gave a penalty away in the last 30 seconds when we were attacking their line and it was all up to me to kick the points. The score was 18-20 to Kings with no time left, so it was do or die basically! Fortunately I kept my cool and kicked the goal and we won the game! The spirit from the school on the hill was amazing, and something that I will never forget. Our coach who has been at Joeys for over 30 years said that he had never seen a game anywhere near as exciting, or thrilling. He said it will go down in Joeys history as one of the greatest rugby days ever. But the boys know that there are still 3 games left and there is no point in beating the best then relaxing on our morales. We have a bye this week, and are recovering in preparation for the next biggest game of the year, Riverview. Everyone is very excited, and there is a great feeling at the school. The Line Break once again is doing the job, the calf guards are great, keeping the cramps away, and also the long short are awesome. I’ve included some photos of the day so you can get a grasp of just how amazing it really was. Once again, a huge thanks to the Line Break crew, all your support and help is greatly appreciated!

I know it's been a while since I have written a blog but I've been very busy with everything! Firstly, I have recently been promoted to the 1st XV for Joeys and we play Kings this week so that should be a big challenge but nonetheless a great chance to prove some people wrong! Also, I have just come back from school holidays in which I have been playing in my local AFL competition for the Turvey Park Bulldogs who are unbeaten with 4 rounds left before the finals. Another good year from the Bullies, and hopefully this year we can go one step further than last year and win the comp!
Thanks very much for everything once again, you guys are really helping me out with your compression gear!

Thought I'd wait til I had some decent news! The rugby teams at school have almost completely been finalised and it looks as if I will be playing in the 2nd XV at fullback, along with kicking at goal, in general play and for touch. I am one of only 3 yr 11's in the team, and one of only 5 yr 11 boys in either the 1st/2nd XV. It is a great honour to be selected in these teams at our school so I am very happy that the hard work I put in over the off season has paid off! We have played 3 trials so far and we have won each of these comfortably. I have been pleased with my performances over the last 3 weeks and have improved remarkably over this time as well with the help of some professional coaches and ex-joeys boys in certain aspects such as kicking at goal by Matthew Burke, and passing and attack by Kurtley Beale. We are playing the Kings School this week and they will be our greatest challenge by far this season, but to be the best you have to beat the best. Finally, the CalfGuard compression socks are going fantastically, I haven't had a cramp in my calves for over a month now which is a great sign they are working. The compression shorts are going well, and always keep my legs ready for whatever gets thrown at them! Anyway, thought I might just let you know how everything is going, also just to let you know again just how good the gear is!
Just writing to let you know that Joeys won the 2010 GPS Cricket Premiership!! It was a great victory and we are very pleased that the hard work has payed off! Without including the trial season I scored 403 at an average of 34, and including trial season I scored 807 runs at 41. So it has been a successful season with the bat! Lord Taverner’s Week finished very well, we came equal second with CCC and we were beaten by CHS 1. I ended up with 140 runs at 28 and 10 wickets at 15.8 from the 5 games. Unfortunately, I was not selected in the NSW Schoolboys side, despite having the statistics to do so. But, as I was told there is always next year! Rugby has started this week already, and we have internal games this week. I have been selected in the 2nd side, in the hope that I will work my way into the 1st side.
This weekend we are playing in our final competition game for St Joseph's College and we are currently leading the competition by 3 points. We are playing the team that is coming 5th so if we play like we can, we should win and bring some silverware home! Which will be good. Also next week I will be participating in the Lord Taverner's Week as I was selected for the Combined GPS XI. It was a great honour to be named in this team even though I am only in yr 11. The Linebreak gear is absolutely awesome!
I recently participated in a cricket carnival in brisbane and my team won the whole thing. I scored a century on one of the days, mixed in with a few wickets as well. Though a low point of the carnival was getting 2 ducks! Doesn't help when you get run out twice when the ball is hit straight to the fielder and the other batsman runs! Anyway, I just wanted to tell you once again how awesome the Line Break gear is. By far and away the best compression gear I've ever worn.
I’m disappointed that I did not make the NSW City side like I had hoped for cricket. Unfortunately I did not score enough runs in the trials and did not receive selection. On a positive note though, I have scored two consecutive centuries for my school side, and the LineBreak equipment has been very comfortable. I am very disappointed to have missed out, but I suppose that everything happens for a reason. I will keep you informed on my progress, and how the LineBreak gear is going.
Just to let you know that we didn't win the grand final. We went down by 16 points in a pretty tough and physical game. LineBreak compression gear stood up to the task again!
I am playing in my local AFL grand final at home this weekend
